What is a mechanical contractor, and is that what I need?
A mechanical contractor installs and services the systems that move air, water, gas and process fluids through a building or a plant — plumbing, heating, cooling, ventilation and piping. If your project touches more than one of those, a mechanical contractor is the one trade that can carry the whole scope instead of coordinating three subcontractors who each own a piece of it.
Do you do both commercial and residential work?
Yes, and they are run differently. Residential service is dispatched locally across Erie, Huron, Lorain, Ottawa and Sandusky counties. Commercial and industrial work is estimated and scheduled as project work, and that travels across Ohio.
Do you self-perform, or do you subcontract the work out?
Union crews on our own payroll self-perform the plumbing, HVAC, process piping and welding, and pipe spools are fabricated in our own shop in Huron. Specialty scopes such as controls programming or crane picks are contracted when the job calls for them, and we tell you which is which before you sign anything.
How far will you travel for a project?
Across Ohio for commercial and industrial work. Distance changes the mobilization cost and the schedule, not whether we will take the job, so it is worth asking rather than assuming.
